Training Partner – Window 7 64-bit

Recently, a client installed Windows 7 64-bit and could not get Training Partner to connect to the database. He was able to find the following solution:

  • Copy MSVCR71.DLL to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (this is needed by the next file)
  • Copy NTWDBLIB.DLL to C:\Windows\SysWOW64

I have not tested this personally, I am still on 32-bit Windows 7 and I upgraded from Vista which had TP installed already.

Thanks to Dale Merrick at PLS for the info.

I can confirm this as well. 64 Bit works. Also had to ensure user had enough system privledges if they are not a Administrator of the machine. If they are not running the application once when the user has been bumped up as Admin and running the App once “Run as Administrator” gets you by any last hurdles. Good idea to run the installation program “Run as Administrator” as well. Remember that the application only needs to Run As Administrator once and that the user can after words be bumped down to a normal user after.

    Daniel,

Thanks for those extra tips especially about the Run as Admin only once. I imagine this would only apply if you are not changing databases.
